Un clin d'œil en passant...

En 1983, Le Mirador m’offrait la possibilité de présenter au public une œuvre encore bien jeune. C’est pourtant à cette occasion que les premiers collectionneurs ont fait leur apparition. C’est également à ce moment là que ma carrière a pris une tournure internationale (voir : « New-York… Mon arrivée en Trump...! »)
En transit entre Los Angeles et Singapour, une partie des Totm a fait escale en Suisse. L’un d’entre eux s’est provisoirement arrêté dans l’entrée de cet hôtel qui, entre-temps, est devenu « Le Mirador Kempinski »
Une apparition symbolique, pleine de nostalgie.

Solarly

Depuis plus de 30 ans, je mène une carrière d’artiste contre vent et marée, en privilégiant systématiquement tout ce qui ressemble à de l’efficacité.
Pourtant, hier, à bord de Solarly (.ch) la virilité des « V8 » m’est apparue comme « pet dans l’eau ».
Le soir, de retour dans le petit port de Vevey, je rendais un hommage silencieux à Celui qui « inventa » l’eau, le soleil…
…la vigne.

Pour moi, l'humour est l'anti-inflammatoire de la haine.

It was a warm Summer morning in Joshua Tree when I had the pleasure to meet Didier, Isabelle and Quentin Mouron. The purpose was to show my house for the potential of leasing it through the Winter. Little did I know then; that our relationship as landlord vs tenant would become a great friendship. I was instantly intrigued and pleased by the energy I felt from all of the Mouron family.

It was shortly thereafter that I realized the kind of artist Didier is. Upon seeing some of the drawings firsthand, I was astonished. I could not believe that this can be achieved with just a pencil. Furthermore, I really believed some of the art literally to be a black and white photo. To top things of, I learned through Isabelle that he can not make a mistake, he has never used an eraser! Didier's art is fascinating, the concepts remind me a little of the artworks by Salvador Dali.

Didier's invention of the TOTM, just like a totem; is as beautiful as it is useful. Self-contained with spot-lighting, one can go anywhere and display the art. Be it in the middle of the remote Mojave desert or at home in the living room.

All art aside, the Mouron family has become like my family. I will miss them, until they can return once again to our High Desert.

Cascade de sons

Retrouvailles avec Charles Papasoff et son quartet dans un club jazz de Montréal. Soirée toute en émotion ; cascade de sons qu'une force intérieure risque de me pousser à métamorphoser en lumières.
